Top Priority
Jesus was once asked, "What is the most important commandment?" He replied by quoting Deuteronomy 6:5, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. These commands are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children."
Think about it
If someone followed you around for a week and recorded everything you did and thought, what would they conclude were your top life priorities?

Will You Have Regrets?
The bookstores are filled with biographies of "successful" people who look back and say, "I wish I had spent more time with my family. Now that I am old, I can see now the things that matter...and I missed them." I don't want to end my life on that note. God has given me the task of parenting NOW.

About Visionary Parenting

Visionary Parenting is a ministry that exists to inspire parents and grandparents to impress the hearts of their children with a love for God, and equips churches to develop dynamic and biblical family ministries. We are dedicated to helping parents and churches catch a biblical vision for the purpose of the family.

Here is a short summary of the eight key messages in the Visionary Parenting Series:

Session 1 - God's Grand Vision for the Family

Did God create the family for a reason? Do you KNOW why God brought your family together? Discover why God created families, and why He gave you your children. Listen NOW.

Session 2 - A Vision of Multi-generational Faithfulness

Are we strategically and passionately parenting so that the knowledge and love of God might be passed and expanded through our descendents for generations to come?

Session 3 - A Vision of a God-filled Normal Life

Is God central in your family only in times of crisis, or is the presence and pursuit God woven through the fabric of your home? How does our weekly schedule communicate our deepest values to our children?

Session 4 - A Vision for a Safe Home

How can we lead and create a home that is emotionally and spiritually safe so that home becomes a place of rest rather than irritation? How does the biblical concept of parental blessing affect the heart of a child?

Sessions 5 and 6 - A Vision of Biblical Fatherhood and Motherhood

Biblical fatherhood and motherhood are under attack. Husbands, what does it mean to love, serve, and lead our wives? What does it mean to be a spiritual leader? Wives, what does it mean to love and help our husbands? What does it mean to reclaim the nobility of motherhood?

Session 7 - A Vision for Family Worship

Family worship is the centerpiece of the Christian home. How can we faithfully spend time spiritual time together as a family that draws us closer toward the Lord and toward one another?

Session 8 - A Vision of Discipline that Disciples

What is the purpose of discipline? How do we discipline effectively without losing our mind or our child’s heart? This message will help you see discipline from a whole new perspective.

Rob briefly shares about his journey as a father and previews the Visionary parenting workshop:

Dear Parents and Grandparents,

We want to encourage you to "turn your hearts toward your children" and embrace your God given responsibility to impress your children's heart to know and love God. Nothing is more important! What does it matter if a person gains the whole world but loses their soul?

We have been blessed with five children, and to be honest, we spent our early parenting years failing to take our calling seriously. We didn't have a spiritual training plan. We didn't have real biblical priorities in place in our home. We had some repenting to do...and now we are in the process of seeking to be the parents that God wants us to be. We have a long way to go, but we are committed to the journey. We hope that you will join us.

- Rob and Amy Rienow

About Rob: I grew up in Connecticut. My mom came to Christ shortly after I was born so I was blessed to be introduced to Jesus at an early age. My parents divorced when I was in high school. God used that painful time in my life to give me a heart for young people and families going through dark times. I attended Wheaton College, then completed an MA in theology at Wheaton College Graduate School, a MDiv from Trinity International Divinity School, and a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. I served as a Youth Pastor at Wheaton Bible Church from 1993-2004, and now serve in the role of Marriage and Family Pastor.
